Derrick has a strong background in math and science and a deep passion for helping students appreciate the beauty of both fields. With years of experience teaching high school math in Denver Public Schools, Derrick is dedicated to demonstrating the beauty and practical applications of mathematics and science. He firmly believes in every student’s capacity to succeed and uses his expertise to craft tutoring sessions designed to maximize academic achievement and build confidence.

Outside the classroom, Derrick is an avid rock climber who enjoys exploring the outdoors, as well as a good book and strong coffee.
